Youth, sustainable tourism, and the ocean environment are three priority areas of Iceland’s presidency of the Nordic Council of Ministers in 2019.
The Ocean priority consists of three NordMar programs that run 2019-2021: NordMar Plastic. NordMar Biorefine and NordMar Ports.
The NordMar Biorefine project
Aims to strengthen the Nordic Blue Bioeconomy with:

Establishing an expert Nordic Blue Bioeconomy network.

Open access
Conducting a feasibility study on open-access blue bio-refineries.

Web portal
Launching a blue bioeconomy portal for knowledge exchange and networking.

Communication
Maintaining effective communications to stakeholders and the public.
